MA, MCMI, MIFireE
Neil has spent over 30 years working for various fire and rescue services in a variety of roles ranging from Divisional Fire Safety Officer, through Operational Performance Manager (Personnel and Development) to Senior Fire Safety Manager; the majority of his service being with Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service.
From 1991 to 1993 Neil acted on secondment as Course Director and Senior Instructor in the School of Fire Engineering at the Fire Service College. On return to his brigade he undertook the role of Brigade Fire Safety Education Officer for two years and gained promotion to the post of Training and Development Manager which he held from 1996 to 2001.
The senior management roles which Neil has undertaken since 1988 have provided him with an excellent understanding of technical and legislative fire safety issues, which, with his experience in the development and delivery of training courses, meant that he was ideally suited for his role with the Fire Protection Association.
Upon joining the FPA in May 2005 as Training Officer and Technical Consultant, Neil has been involved in the delivery of a range of courses including basic fire awareness, fire risk assessment workshops and those in support of the National Occupational Standards for Fire Safety to a variety of clients. Neil has an MA in Management and is a Member of both the Chartered Management Institute (MCMI) and the Institution of Fire Engineers (MIFireE).
