Terry Dixon, Associate Trainer

Terry spent over 30 years working for the London Fire Brigade (LFB) in roles ranging from fire-fighter, inspecting officer to trainer where he developed and delivered training courses on building regulations, fire risk assessments, fire alarms and all aspects of fire safety legislation. Terry was part of the core team at LFB who influenced the strategy, and developed policy, guidance and training programmes for the brigades inspecting officers in response to the introduction of the Fire Safety Order.
During his time working at LFB Terry developed considerable legislative and best practice knowledge on fire engineering solutions, fire suppression and all aspects of fire safety with particular experience in high profile buildings and heritage issues.
On leaving the brigade Terry set up his own fire safety consultancy and his customers include housing associations, government organisations, schools, colleges and churches as well public/private companies.
Terry’s skills, abilities and technical knowledge coupled with his experience in development and delivery of training courses meant he was ideally suited to join the Fire Protection Association in 2009 as an Associate Trainer.
Terry has a range of qualifications including HNC Fire Safety Studies, NEBOSH and IOSH and is a Graduate Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (GIFireE).
