Steve joined the FPA in January 2011 and is the Curriculum and Qualifications Manager for the Training Department. Steve has extensive experience in the design, delivery and management of training and educational programmes.
Prior to joining the FPA, Steve was the Training Manager at a large centre providing training to NHS support, and prior to that a trainer designing and delivering management and leadership training to various Fire and Rescue Services to help them fulfill their IPDS requirements, and to large multinational and small organisations – delivering ILM or Edexcel qualifications.
He has spent much of his teaching career managing HE programmes within an FE environment and also worked on the development of some of the inaugural Foundation degrees. He also was partly responsible for the design and implementation of a peer review system within a large college.
Steve has also spent some time working as a Health and Safety Consultant, carrying out audits and risk assessments and ensuring that organisations complied with legislation. He is a registered trainer for the CIEH.
He is passionate about raising delivery standards in adult training and education.
